Kano State leads in applications for the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) student loan scheme, showing a strong demand for educational financial support in the state.
NELFUND Student Loan Applications
From the data shared by NELFUND on its official X handle, Kano is leading the chart with 17,122 applications.
The second on the list is Borno State with 13,798 applicants, and the third place goes to Benue State with 11,754.
Only these three states have more than 11,000 applicants, which proves that there is a great demand for financial assistance among students in these states.
Other states with different statistics include Kaduna State, 10,380; Katsina State, 10,952; and Oyo State, 8,990.
Plateau comes out with 9,328, followed by Adamawa with 8,977, while Taraba pulled 8,668 applications.
However, states such as Ogun, Akwa Ibom, and Bauchi have a middle range, which has applicants ranging from 5,000 to 7,000.
Other states that registered few applications include Lagos with a total of 2,347, Enugu with 2,247, and Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory, at the bottom with only 676 applicants.
