ReSAKSS Data Challenge
This competition invites creative thinkers and skilled analysts to use data and resources available on the ReSAKSS website and other digital platforms to create impactful projects or knowledge products that tackle Africa’s development issues.
If you have a thing for working with data and a flair for problem-solving, this challenge is your chance to shine. You can enter in one of four categories, each with its own unique focus:
Category 1 – Essays and Reports: This category seeks the most groundbreaking research papers, articles, essays, or journal articles that provide innovative solutions to issues affecting Africa.
Category 2 – Visual Arts: Here, we’re looking for the most creative infographics, illustrations, or videos that effectively communicate complex data or ideas.
Category 3 – IT Products and Services: This category is all about the most inventive applications and tools that can make a significant impact through technology.
Category 4 – High School Projects: High school students are encouraged to submit their most creative and impactful projects that address relevant issues.
Who Can Participate?
The ReSAKSS Data Challenge welcomes all Africans, whether you’re living in Africa or abroad. If you’re under 13, you’ll need a parent or legal guardian to submit your application.
For those under 18, it’s essential to get permission from a parent or legal guardian to participate. The challenge organizers also reserve the right to verify eligibility.
What are the benefits?
Each category winner will be awarded $1,500 prize. Some categories might also have second and third place winners, providing more opportunities to be recognized for your efforts.
