The Federal Government has rolled out the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Programme to help small-scale traders in all 36 states of Nigeria.

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu announced this during a meeting with the wives of state governors, who also serve as State Coordinators for the Renewed Hope Initiative (RHI).

In the meeting held at the Office of the First Lady, Mrs Tinubu emphasized that the Initiative’s mission is to improve family life with various programs.

She said, “Additionally, we are set to launch the Renewed Hope Initiative Women Economic Empowerment Programme for Petty traders. Under this scheme, RHI will provide N50,000 grant each to 1,000 Women Petty Traders in the 36 states and the FCT.

The program is designed to recapitalize existing small businesses and support their growth. The official launch is scheduled for August 22, 2024. I urge states that are yet to submit a list of beneficiaries to do so in earnest.

“In agriculture, we will be working with the Federal Ministry of Agriculture. The National Agricultural Development Fund (NADFUND) has also reached out to us to train female farmers in each State and FCT”.

She added that these initiatives, along with other policies from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, aim to create a more prosperous nation.

“In Education, RHI is collaborating with the Federal Ministry of Education, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), and the African Union Development Agency – New Partnership for Africa’s Development (AUDA-NEPAD).

It is also worthy of note that the unveiling of 200 Awardees under the AUDA NEPAD/ RHI Scholarship Programme will take place tomorrow, 1st of August, 2024,” Remi Tinubu said.
