How To Apply For NDDC Youth Internship Scheme (Get N50,000 Monthly)
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has introduced a Youth Internship Scheme aimed at empowering 10,000 young individuals in the Niger Delta region.
This initiative, launched by Chiedu Ebie, Chairman of the Governing Board, seeks to equip youths with essential skills while providing a monthly stipend of N50,000.
Ebie highlighted the program’s potential to positively impact beneficiaries’ lives by addressing education and skill deficiencies among the region’s youth.
He emphasized that the scheme is entirely online and free, making it accessible to all eligible applicants.
Program Overview
Ebie stressed that the program is designed to ensure transparency and fairness. Applicants will complete the registration process online, eliminating the need for intermediaries.
The program targets individuals under the age of 45, with special provisions for persons living with disabilities.
He stated, “We have set an age limit to ensure that those who are genuinely in need benefit from this program. If you are over 45 years old, please do not apply, as this opportunity is meant for younger individuals who still have decades of active work life ahead of them.”
Conduct and Monitoring
Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Managing Director and CEO of the NDDC, issued a stern warning to beneficiaries regarding their conduct.
He emphasized that participants’ behavior will be closely monitored through quarterly reports, and any misconduct will result in expulsion from the scheme.
“”We urge young people to take full advantage of this opportunity and positively represent the Niger Delta. Your conduct throughout the internship is essential for your continued participation.
“Our consultants will oversee and report on your performance every three months. Poor behavior could result in removal from the program,” Ogbuku said.
Internship Opportunities
Ogbuku announced the official launch of the NDDC Internship Scheme, which aims to engage 10,000 youths in various fields, including:
- Technology
- Automobile
- Craftsmanship
- Community Service
- Finance
- Sports
- Medical
- Maritime
- Agriculture
- Arts
He assured that the selection process would be transparent, with each state initially receiving an equal number of participants before considering crude oil production quotas for further distribution.
Robust Online System
Ogbuku reassured applicants that the online registration system is robust, with six servers in place to handle high traffic and prevent crashes.
“Our database is thoroughly tested and supported by six strong servers. Even with the anticipated high volume of applications, the portal will remain stable. We are fully prepared for this scheme,” he assured.
He also mentioned that the NDDC would collaborate with other relevant government agencies to ensure the program’s success and maximize its benefits.
